a little more about me
Ever since I was young, I’ve been obsessed with telling stories.
From wanting to be an author, to a filmmaker, I’ve learned that my unique superpower is the ability to see a story as its being written.
I'm originally from Green Bay, Wisconsin, and have stayed a true Midwesterner at heart! As long as I can remember, people around me would often describe me as an old soul. Some of my favorite childhood memories are from the time I spent around my grandparents, and I've carried many of their loves over into my own life. I'm deeply inspired by things that hold history, drawn to all things vintage, and a collector of things that tell a story.
Today I live in the outskirts of Longmont, Colorado. When I'm not running all around the state for photoshoots, I love spending time with my dog, family, and friends.
MY PHILOSOPHY
I'm a recovering perfectionist
With the rise of social media I’d found myself falling into the trap of feeling like every aspect of my life needed to be perfect. Eventually I realized that I held on to a deep dissatisfaction in life, as much of life’s beauty comes from it’s imperfections.
Now, instead of striving for perfection, I’m in pursuit of imperfection. It’s the in-between moments that I look for. The crazy windswept hair, or even getting caught in unexpected rain. I’m always blown away by the intimacy of life’s craziness and unpredictability.
My goal is to capture the genuine connection between people, not something that feels awkward or forced. I’d rather you be in the moment than focused on smiling for the camera. I find when the guard of looking perfect is lowered, that’s when you are able to see someone for who they really are.
No two stories are the same, and I love finding the details that make each one unique. I'm here for the dreamers and the hopeless romantics!
Fun facts about me...
1. I started collecting film cameras at the age of 15. As of today I own 16 film cameras, most of which are over 50 years old!
2. I’m an avid coffee drinker, and there's nothing I love more than trying different local coffee shops!
3. My favorite camera to shoot with is my Minolta SRT mc-ii, mainly because it belonged to my great-grandfather.
4. I'm a huge racing fan, and when I have a day off, I love treating myself to a day of karting!
